Julie offers professionalism, integrity, trustworthiness and sincerity.
Coaching and helping people connect with and claim their inherent greatness is a passion of mine.  I believe in the unlimited potential of each person and the endless possibilities that exist for each of us in every area of our lives.  I am fully committed to empowering my clients to be all they really are and to live the life they so deserve.  As individuals we all have our own unique way of expressing our gifts and talents so that what we each offer is special—no one else can offer it in quite the same way.  Life becomes richer and fuller when we tap into our full potential and our family, friends, employers, society and the world all benefit too.

I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach trained and certified by the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and am a graduate of their Leadership Training program.  In addition, I also graduated from the ADD Coach Academy program in which I received training specific for coaching people with AD/HD.

Although I have coached many men successfully, I am now going to focus on coaching women, specifically women in midlife.  So what's my reason?  Recently I completed coauthoring a book for women who are approaching the age of fifty and beyond.  My coauthor is Lynn Hull, a coach and friend who, by the way, is British although is now living in France.  Yes, we wrote the book long distance using any means possible because we want to see more mature women connecting with their essence and living fully.  We are never too old and it is never too late!  Lynn and I are proof of that.

Your Life Your Way: The Essential Guide for Women

In the book we guide and coach women step by step:

  • To gain clarity on their current life circumstances, their habits and attitudes.
  • Discover their inner resources and how to tap into them.
  • Uncover what truly matters most to them.
  • Make conscious choices and manage fear of change.
  • Learn to savor and celebrate life more.

Throughout my adult life I made a lot of transitions, many at an age that others thought was "too old".  When I started my coaching practice I was fifty-four; the position I held as an Account Manager began when I was forty-eight; I started as a Sales Coordinator at the age of forty-five and became an Office Manager after being a full-time homemaker at the age of forty-four.  Proof that age does not stop us.  In my personal life I am a wife and mother of three (adults) and grandmother of one darling baby girl.  I have enjoyed many years of volunteer activities that include crisis line intervention, programs for the homeless, etc.  Throughout, I've learned a great deal and want to share what I've learned.  I hope that my lessons may be of service to others.

It hasn't always been easy either.  Late in 2004 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and took a medical leave of absence from my coaching practice and in general my entire way of life.  I was very fortunate that the cancer was not invasive and I have been very healthy ever since.  However, the type of breast reconstruction surgery that I chose took its toll on me--I spent more than one year recovering.  Even after that time, I was not able to do what I had previously been accustomed to in terms of energy and physical activity.  I have always been so much about moving forward and to find myself at a standstill and at times regressing was a new experience for me.  My life changed so dramatically I didn't know "how" to live or "what" I wanted.  To say that I was challenged is putting it mildly.  And as I write this I am so well aware that many people have much greater challenges.  I am very grateful for the many blessings in my life.

My spiritual beliefs are strong although during my lengthy recovery, I started questioning everything--all my beliefs, my passions, my previous choices, etc.  I could not understand how this was happening to me because I believed I was "called" to the many  activities I was engaged in at the time I was diagnosed.  Shaman training with the Four Winds Society was the most important of all.  Several years earlier I had followed a "calling" to visit Machu Picchu and never understood why.  Being at Machu Picchu  was a magical experience for me and I felt a deep connection to the area; however, I still didn't know why I was there. It was several years later when I felt the "calling" to the Shaman training that I finally understood.  When I was set to have my surgery, I expected and accepted that everything would have to be placed on hold; however, I never dreamed it would be for such a long period.  Nor did I ever think that I would only return once to the shaman training and no longer feel the same passion and calling as before.

Also during the time I was diagnosed, I was in the process of designing a series of workshops with Lynn Hull to reach out to women in midlife.  That too had to be placed on hold.  As time passed the idea to write a book together surfaced and as I said earlier, we followed through.  The book is actually a way of reaching more women than we could have with the workshops.  Life can bring about many surprises--some very good ones if we stay with the flow.

All in all, I have gained more strength, courage and faith.  My main focus remains as it was before, to be authentic and learn to love, accept and honor myself and all others.  I believe in "walking the talk" the best I can.  I don't know what the future holds--no one does.  Showing up in the world in the best way possible is what we all must do, for our good and the good of all.

Like the presenters say in The Secret, I remind myself daily of all that I am grateful for.  Each one of us has a long  list if we stop for a few moments to let them surface in our minds.
